Morning OCU:

I think we'll see more stock market events like this going forward. Good way to shake out the weaklings (99% of the American people). First their jobs, then their home values, then their pensions, then their savings, then their investments, then their safety net.

Yep, S&P's object lesson sure was expensive. Too bad that the people whom this should have been directed at will come out of this either totally unscathed, or like Eric Cantor, ahead of the game due to them 'going short' in anticipation of a default. You also have to wonder if S&P wasn't motivated by the idea that so many big money people HAD gone short hoping for a default that perhaps when it didn't happen S&P accommodated them with the next best thing.
