SAN FRANCISCO (MarketWatch) -- Former Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty will announce Sunday that he is ending his campaign for the 2012 Republican presidential nomination, according to media reports. Pawlenty's departure follows a disappointing showing in the Iowa straw poll, where he finished third behind Reps. Michele Bachmann of Minnesota and Ron Paul of Texas; and the entry of Texas Gov. Rick Perry into the crowded race to challenge the presumed Democratic candidate, President Barack Obama, in the 2012 election.
