I hope someones tells Michele that if we were to start drilling for oil in Alaska's ANWR (Arctic National Wildlife Refuge) region TODAY that it could be as long as 10 years before the first barrel of oil from there could be delivered to an American refinery. Also it has been estimated (link provided below) that if drilling were to commence immediately that peak production would not occur before 2030, at which time the oil production from ANWR would account for something between 0.4% and 1.2% of the world's oil production at that time.
MS. Bachmann, Please explain to the rest of us how this could possibly have any impact on the pump price of gasoline in this country any time between 2013 and 2021, the maximum period of time in which you would be in the White House IF you managed to win the presidency based in part on outrageous claims like this?
Let's hope that if she continues with this sort of claim that she will be asked to defend it in some upcoming primary debate.
