It seems that for several years Michele Bachmann has used the title 'Dr.' before her name when dealing with the public and even when she was running for office. And while it is true that she has a J.D. (juris doctor) degree from law school, this does not give her the right to use the title Dr., as if she had a PhD or Medical degree, which she does not. At most, she would be allowed to use the term 'Esquire' after her name as is often the case with attorneys who hold only a basic law degree, which she does.
