I'm not disputing that he was or he wasn't, but I suspect that no matter what he would have been doing, Drudge would have seen fit to make an issue of it: [b]"Obama was <enter relevant activity here> when the earthquake struck D.C." as if he should have been somewhere else, apparently doing something different.

BTW, do you recall whether Drudge made a big deal about what Dubya was doing when Katrina hit New Orleans?

Let me refresh your memory, and remember, unlike earthquakes, the president actually DOES KNOW when a hurricane is coming, sometimes days in advance. And so where was Bush? He flew to Arizona, to attend a birthday party for John McCain, claiming that he couldn't miss the party as he didn't want to disappoint all of the family and friends that the McCains had invited.
