I can see your point, but Yossel is a contributor and despite not having much traffic to his pages, he goes by the rules.

The trouble with "deleting" boards is, they don't really get deleted. Just hidden. And I do weed through them from time to time.

But once the board name is taken...it's taken.

You could always make GOOOOOLD!

I just wanted to bi%%ch and moan to someone about all the forums Yossel created just for his own amusement, I guess. Many of them aren't being used or managed. It's a pretty remarkable list:

The problem is, he's nabbed a bunch of GOOD general topics titles... GOLD, for instance... while hardly putting anything into them. Nobody else is using them either. It's as if he's creating all these forums as a filing system for his own purposes... or maybe just pride of ownership.

A message I posted to GOLD in mid-September remains unanswered after a month and a half and is still the last thing that happened in that forum. It is post number 9, btw. Posts 1 through 8 are Yossel's. DEEP SIX has just two entries, both posted by Yossel in July. ROMA has two posts... one from June and another from September. INTERNET - three posts.

If this had no any adverse impact, I wouldn't say anything. But several of the topics are near and dear to my heart, and I think it's a shame that the topics have been appropriated by dead boards.

Consider the impact such a practice has on new users... especially if more than one user is following Yossel's lead. New users come here, go to a forum that sounds interesting, then find it nearly devoid of content OR activity. If he does that two or three times, I think that's about all the time the new user is going to invest here.

IMO, forums with fewer than, say, 1,000 posts and without anything new for 90 days or so should be deleted - unless special dispensation is obtained from Bob. Maybe 1,000 could be a different number. So could 90. Bob can come up with the details.
