And we better not hear a single Republican complain about this since this is exactly what they intend to happen when they forced the Post Office to set-aside 100% of the pension and health care costs for all employees out to 75 years from now, which means that they had to pre-fund (they were given 5 years to set aside the money) expenses for people who have not even been born yet. No other American corporation or other government agency has been burdened with this sort of requirement. The sole purpose of this law was to destroy the postal service since its employees represent one of the largest unions still in existence in this country.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Already mocked by some as "snail mail," first-class U.S. mail will slow even more by next spring under plans by the cash-strapped U.S. Postal Service to eliminate more than 250 processing centers. Nearly 30,000 workers would be laid off, too, as the post office struggles to respond to a shift to online communication and bill payments.
