December 25th isn't the issue. We all know that Christ wasn't born in December. The issue is the cartoon as a whole, what "Linus" has to say about Christianity and Christmas, (and there is no way, of course, that Charles Schultz scripted that pathetic speech. And the issue is the way you cheer that speech on and taunting "Faux News" for not telling it that way as well.

It's pretty clear that YOU agree with the cartoon. So I suggewt you try it before your church sometime.

But you'd never have the nerve to tell them what you REALLY think. We all know that too.

One of our priests is a Biblical scholar and I'll bet if he were asked about how did December 25th finally became the 'official' birthday for Jesus that his response would not be all that different than what Linus stated. I know because I've attended many of the 'classes' he holds for members of our church, particularly during the Lenten season and during Advent. In his last class we had a really good discussion of some of the interesting bits of church history that is not often talked about including the lives of the Saints. He recommended, and I just read on my last flight back East, a small book titled 'Saints Behaving Badly: The Cutthroats, Crooks, Trollops, Con Men, and Devil-Worshippers Who Became Saints', by Thomas J. Craughwell.
