And what should we do if our 'expectations' are not realized? At what point does it become the responsibility of society to step-in to protect those who are being taken advantage of? Or are you saying that this is only something between the consumer and the bank?

Of course you should "expect" it. You shouldn't "assume" it. You do know the difference, right?

The difference between FRAUD and SALESMANSHIP may be beyond most people's abilities to understand, but it is there and it is huge.
