...the update would have been required in any case because the "continuation" of the tax cut isn't a continuation at all. It continues cuts for some and causes tax increases for others. There is currently no program written to do that because the bill hasn't been passed and the software cannot be written until the peramaters are known.

...btw, the democrats proposal for paying for this tax cut is to put a fee on building new homes.

Just got this from a friend, she works at a college.

Look at the email that just came at work...congress bastards....

Payroll has requested that an emergency tax update be installed Thursday morning 12/22/11. This will require bring down the Campus Solutions system.

The update is required because Congress did not renew the payroll tax cut. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause but it is necessary that the update be installed before this week’s payroll is run.
