Riana,

Along those lines, 'locking doors', if a robber wants to get in, he does.

And when I see signs on properties stating they have an 'alarm system', that tells me they have MORE than their neighbor. ;))

Bottom line, a crimminal doesn't follow the rule of law.

An Order of Protection is a worthless piece of paper, IMO. It's not bullet-proof, knife-proof, or fist-proof. If someone is intent on committing a crime already, why would they care about violating that protection order, too? Short answer - they don't.

One of our local banks has "Firearms Prohibited" prominently displayed on their entry door. They were robbed multiple times a few summers ago - at gunpoint. Fat lot of good that "Firearms Prohibited" did them. The sign did nothing to stop someone already intent on committing a crime.
