You're right, in that if someone wants to steal/rape/murder badly enough, a locked door, guard dog, or alarm company isn't going to stop them.

However, I believe most criminals are lazy - they are going for the easy score. If they wanted to work for their profit, they'd get a job like the rest of us. "Easy" means the house that doesn't have an alarm or a dog, or the bank where no one will fight back.

Riana,

Along those lines, 'locking doors', if a robber wants to get in, he does.

And when I see signs on properties stating they have an 'alarm system', that tells me they have MORE than their neighbor. ;))

Bottom line, a crimminal doesn't follow the rule of law.
