Clo,

Let's be real, Obama DID inherit a disaster from GWB. TWO Wars, adding insult to injury, tax cuts, Medicare D, NOTHING paid for. And the housing disaster, auto companies on the brink, along with auto supply businesses.

Admittedly, things have been a mess for a LONG time, starting back with Bush Sr., I'd wager. While I won't say he inherited the mess from GWB, I agree that he inherited the mess. At least some of it.

And you are telling me that Obama did NOTHING to exacerbate the situation? That the only actions he took improved it? I disagree. He should take part of the blame like everyone else. But he won't - he'll blame Congress. And Congress will blame someone. And so on. You know - 'bad things' tend to flow downhill.

Now, don't get me wrong, Obama could have done more & wasted two years on health care, instead of JOBS & working towards having Congress reinstate Glass-Steagall. And his selection of Geithner & Atty General Holder were mistakes, IMO.

The President doesn't have the power to make Congress do anything. Other than nagging them to death, I'm not sure how he could have accomplished anything regarding jobs or the Glass-Steagall Act. Enlighten me?

It's good to see you think he's not perfect, though.

The current leadership gets the blame & the glory, for 'current events'.

Show me where the current leadership has PUBLICLY taken the blame, or granted the glory to a previous leader.

Riana,

And as an aside, don't you find it interesting that when things are going well, it's because of the current leadership, but when things go badly, it's because the current leadership "inherited the mess" from the previous leadership?

Yes, even with the killing of bin Laden, many republicans claimed it was because of the policies GWB put in place.
