I understand that they still hold services there once a year where a an Russian Orthodox priest or perhaps a bishop comes and holds a Mass in remembrance of the people who are buried in the Fort's cemetery.

They've had some Russian tourists come over, we have a Russian Orthodox church in Santa Rosa, where I grew up was Sebastopol, lots of connections... The old Chapel has been burned down a couple times, but rebuilt... Many years back we used to go abalone diving/rock picking at minus tides, near there...Had to go down the cliffs on long ropes... Still beyond the reach of most folks..

I was looking earlier for pictures, they've really updated the Visitor Center there, but maybe they are mixed in other coastal trip pics...

Next month we'll be passing by on our annual jaunt to Sea Ranch... What are the odds that this balmy weather will hold that long? Some years we never get out of the cabin!
