Riana,

Just heard Peru has over crowding issues & he could be released in 14 years...

IMO, prison IS punishment, you lose all of your freedom.

I would like more non violent criminals on house arrest. Saves tax payers from 'supporting 3 hots & a cot'.
Free up room to keep the violent ones behind bars as long as the law requires. End early releases due to over crowding.

This SOB deserves a bullet between his eyes...

I don't know. That seems like the easy way out to me. However, 28 years in a Peruvian prison is not going to be a cakewalk.

Some countries don't spoil their prisoners like ours does (HBO, hot meals, etc). We'll just have to see how he fares.

I'm of the view that prison should be PUNISHMENT, not just "3 hots and a cot." Hard labor (or, at least, labor appropriate for an inmate's physical/mental condition) should be the norm. I bet recidivism rates would drop.
