I accept the premise that a vegetarian would make a very poor food tester at MacDonald's, but how does being Jewish disqualify one from being Obama's Chief-of-Staff? You seem to imply that his religion will prevent him from working 24/7. Are you saying that ANY person who was unable to spend 100% of their day, including apparently when the rest of us would expect to be home in bed sleeping, working in the West Wing, that that person would be unqualified for the job? Please tell us where you can find people willing and able to work an unlimited number of 24 hours shifts, back-to-back.

Correct, but this job requires 7/24.

It's a job requirement based on which he can be ...excused. Just as if he was a vegetarian and was to be hired as a food tester at Macdonald's.
