That Baptism after death is pretty much a common procedure in the LDS... I had a docent at their Family History Center (Genealogy research) explain why they never bother with evangelizing, it doesn't matter, we get you now, we get you later! No problem! And they were, in fact, very helpful, friendly, their research centers are open to all, Salt Lake facilities are as well, but the demand is so great, you need reservations... And they provide translators, docents as needed...

Beyond their religious side, they have done an amazing job of gathering documents around the world.. I was abel to track my paternal grandparents, well, really only my grandmother, so far, into a little island off the West cost of Denmark, found her Baptismal and Birth Certificates, actual photocopies of the old ledgers, written in old Danish script... Can't find Gramps, so far...

Wait till you hear this.
Apparently Mitt's father in law was a devote atheist, ALWAYS believed 'religion' was phoney & NOT for him.

Well, over the years Mitt convinced the other members of his wife's family to be baptized in the Mormon faith, EXCEPT her dad.
That was while he was ALIVE, once he died, Mitt decided it wasn't too late... and he had him baptized as a Mormon. (don't know if Mitt did the baptism?)

IMO, this is an act of disrespect & a violation of the mans way of life!
Talk about not knowing boundaries...
