I have no special insight or message to impart with the following chart. I found it and added lines just so I could see the trading channel. Obviously, the Dow is neither spectacularly CHEAP nor EXPENSIVE today, though it's tending toward the EXPENSIVE.

Given that the pricing on this chart is logarithmic, it would take something on the order of 20,000 to match the overbought conditions of 1929 and 1996. A Dow at 4,000 would be comparable to the oversold situations seen in 1932 and 1982.
