re: "P.S. Bright & talented son! ;))"

He's talented, but not as bright as you might think.

It's just that he works very, VERY hard. He just finished his weekend homework a little while ago after working on it all day. As a result of putting in those kind of hours, he gets great grades and screws up the curve.

The reason I bring this up is that some kids in school who resent himn for it. They aren't doing as well and are asking him to give them some of his points. The school allows for that. They claim that he doesn't such good grades, and that he actually has more points than he needs or coud even use.

So far, he has resisted the pressure they're applying, but now they're ganging up in order to force him to give up some of his extra credit points. I guess if enough of them unite, they can just take the points through force.

It's a very liberal school, you see, and my son is outnumbered.

Decomp,

"So, what's your point?"

You were under the impression young kids these days don't think they can succeed without government help & that professors feed that.
And here she wants to own a farm! I thought it was ironic given our exchange yesterday.

As a woman, I tend to give as much info describing/color things. That's why I told you her age, gender, ethnicity, state, school....

Trade school is an excellent way to go, I often suggest it instead of college.
Learning a trade is useful, you always have something to fall back on. People need things fixed, and can't outsource it to India or China.

I also suggest buying land instead of investing in the market.
If they are looking for a home, try to buy something that offers an area to be rented, garage, basement apt, two family, etc. This way you can have an investment that helps pay the mortgage.

P.S. Bright & talented son! ;))
