clo,

re: "After knowing this area soooo well, WHY did he need to step out of the truck to know which street he was on?"

Beats me. Why are you continuing to search for reasons to validate your rush to judge George Zimmerman?

Can't you just accept the fact that you don't know enough to determine what happened . . . and leave it to the authorities to figure it out?

I suspect that your rush to judgement is because, deep inside, you're a racist. You have some sort of twisted need to play up this kid's death because he's black and his killer was not. Or a pressing need to favor certain races (oddly, not your own) over others.

That, or you're just an easily played pawn of the S.O.B.s who manipulate the liberal left into saying and doing the STUPIDEST things on a daily basis.

And if it's none of those, if you think I'm way off base, then suppose you explain some of the absurdities you've posted about George Zimmerman and the Florida police who handled this case?

This SHOULD be a learning experience for you. A chance for you to open your eyes to the kinds of foolishness and evil you've been accepting just because those pushing it are on the left. Unfortunately, I doubt it will be.

Zimmerman claimed Trayvon attacked him from behind, yet Trayvon is killed with a bullet in his CHEST...
After knowing this area soooo well, WHY did he need to step out of the truck to know which street he was on?

Police arrival

When the police arrived, they reported finding Martin face-down and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound in the chest. The police report states that they attempted CPR, paramedics arrived and continued CPR, finally declaring him dead at 7:30 p.m. Statements by the police say Zimmerman had grass on his back and his back was wet. Zimmerman was bleeding from the nose and the back of the head; subsequently his lawyer stated that Zimmerman's nose was broken.[58][59] The police report does not indicate that Zimmerman required medical attention. Zimmerman asserted self-defense, telling police he had stepped out of his truck to check the name of the street he was on, when Martin attacked him from behind as he walked back to his truck. He said he fired the semiautomatic handgun because he feared for his life.[60] Martin was unarmed, and was carrying a bag of Skittles candy and a can of Arizona brand iced tea.[60][61]

An eyewitness to the physical altercation just prior to the shooting stated that Martin was on top of Zimmerman and beating him up, while the older man yelled for help.[62][63] Another witness, Mary Cutcher, believes "there was no punching, no hitting going on at the time, no wrestling" just prior to the shooting, though she neither saw the shooting nor the preceding altercation.[64] The police say she gave an official account to them that agreed with Zimmerman's story.[65][66]

Cutcher and her roommate told CNN journalist Anderson Cooper that their own account of the incident to the police did not agree with Zimmerman's, and that they had demanded that the police retract that incorrect statement. They also said, about the police's attitude at the scene, that "they were siding with him [Zimmerman] from the start" and that they heard the pair in their backyard and a "very young voice" whining, with no sounds of a fight. They heard a gunshot; the crying stopped immediately, and they saw Zimmerman on his knees pinning Martin down on the ground.[67]

Immediately following the shooting, Trayvon Martin's body was transported to the morgue and was tagged as a John Doe.[68] It was identified as Trayvon after 3 days. Trayvon's family criticized the police department for not identifying their son more quickly, and for not asking neighbors if they recognized Trayvon, who had been staying with his father in the gated community.[69] David Horsey also criticized police for failing to check his cell phone to find someone he knew.[70]
