...when the gubmint started making college loans the demand for college went up. When the demand went up, the price went up. Same as with health care. The gubmint is causing the very problem it is purporting to solve.

My three paperback textbooks set me back $450 this semester.
Okay, I'm exaggering a little. I bought one of the three used on Craig's list. The others weren't available used.
They really are $150 apiece. And, although the first two are outstanding books, the third is so bad that the instructor called it 'embarrassing' on the first day of class.
For those of you who haven't been to college recently, 'embarassing,' when applied to college texts, is a euphemism for 'I didn't write this piece of junk. My book, however, will be published soon.'
