Shuffles,

I don't know for sure, but....

in my Outlook email, when I delete an email message it goes to the deleted folder in Outlook.

After awhile, I open the deleted items folder and highlite one, choose select ALL from the edit menu, and then hit the delete key on my keyboard.
A window pops up asking if I want to permanently delete these messages. Click YES and you just opened up your deleted messages folder.

micro....

A while back I had problems with OE. It was that the inbox (or outbox) was too big. I tried to delete a bunch but that did not cure the problem. It appears that in OE deleting files created "dead white space" or somesuch that can only be deleted by deleting the whole inbox (or outbox) folder.

So, can someone walk me through the steps I need to take. I think I have to create a .dbx folder and move the inbox contents to it. Then I have to delete the inbox folder, which will later be recreated as an empty inbox folder later. I am not sure how to move the inbox folder contents. I do have an icon to access the OE .dbx folders.

Or, is there a better solution? Are my assumptions even correct. Last time I recovered via Carbonite but the recovered files were not much better than lost.
