The accident occurred after a 17-year-old in a car tried to make a Y-turn via someone's driveway. He pulled into the driveway then backed out into the path of an oncoming motorcycle.
My associate was wearing a helmet and tried to swerve his bike out of the way but couldn't miss the car, according to the police. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Neither party's speed nor alcohol were factors, and no charges are being pressed against the car driver. The 17-year-old would, however, have been charged with murder if he'd been white and the victim black. That's how justice works in America today.
