I second that. Pcj is exactamundo on that.
A good cleaning out of al those temp internet files plus a good cleaning in general by ccleaner, or
Auslogics FRee registry cleaner and registry defragger and duplicate file finder will help enormously as well.

Sounds like Shuffle's internet connection is okay, maybe got busy, but the combination of things was causing the lag time.

I know it's annoying.

shuffles.... when you delete cookies, you lose your online session with the websites they are associated to. However, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Chrome store the passwords and should auto-fill them into your login when you go back to that website. The passwords the browsers store do not get deleted.

It can be a pain in the neck to have to go through all that, but you'd be surprised at how many gigabytes of surfing information gets put into your temporary internet file folders, and regular cleaning will often help performance.
