4) Obama Campaign Lacking Enthusiasm?

This morning on “This Week” Jake Tapper asked David Axelrod about how the Obama campaign’s crows appear to be dwindling. At OSU, at Ohio State yesterday, in a stadium that seats about 18,000, there were roughly 14,000 people there, Tapper asked if this is signaling a potential campaign problem.

Axelrod Responded: “Jake, you should have gone along on the whole trip. In Virginia, there was an overflow crowd. And that’s the way it is.

But the fact is that 14,000 is 11,000 more than the largest crowd that Mitt Romney has ever drawn.
So I think there’s enthusiasm for the president’s candidacy. And, you know, we’ve got tremendous volunteer response. Just from that event, we got thousands of more volunteers in our campaign. I am certain that we are going to have an enthused volunteer core and enthused electorate out there.”

re: "It only gets worse for Obummer from here."

That was written on May 2nd, when Gallup said Romney and Obummer were tied. Today, May 7th, Politico is saying the same thing . . . and Romney's lead has caught the eye (yes, pun intended!) of CBS News, DAN RATHER'S former network before they fired him for falsifying a story.

More, let's not forget the point clo recently brought to our attention - that Romney has made MASSIVE inroads into Obummer's once unassailable FEMALE base, taking some FIFTEEN POINTS off of his 2008 support. With that devastating blow, one has to wonder where the Loser-In-Chief might turn in hopes of saving face??

Perhaps he should pursue white males? (And no, I am *not* making another pun, despite that story that floated around Chicago a few years back.)

Romney polling well with independents as Obama campaign kicks off

By Bill Plante

(CBS News) WASHINGTON - A new Politico-George Washington University poll shows Mitt Romney leading President Obama by one point, 48 to 47 percent.

In that poll, independent voters prefered Romney by a ten-point margin.

.
.
.
Despite a brutal primary battle, polls show Romney will be competitive in the 11 battleground states where this campaign will be fought.
.
.
.
Meanwhile, the president may have a little work to do to boost enthusiasm among his own supporters: Even though there were 14,000 people at one of those rallies over the weekend, there were still 4,000 empty seats.
