Along about now, I think it is worth checking out what George Zimmerman has been charged with.
Was it the crime of STALKING?
No, of course not. In all probability, Martin approached and assaulted Zimmerman, not the other way around.
Zimmerman is charged with 2nd degree murder.
In Florida, 2nd degree murder either means
Murder with a Depraved Mind or
Accomplice Felony Murder
Since no one claims George was someone else's accomplice, I think we can focus on "Murder with a Depraved Mind."
Read on:
Murder with a Depraved Mind
Murder with a Depraved Mind occurs when a person is killed, without any premeditated design, by an act imminently dangerous to another and evincing a depraved mind showing no regard for human life.
The primary distinction between Premeditated First Degree Murder and Second Degree Murder with a Depraved Mind is that First Degree Murder requires a specific and premeditated intent to kill.
Do you folks sincerely believe that this is what George Zimmerman did? That he killed the man who had assaulted him and who was probably still attacking because he had "no regard for human life"?
Oh, please! There is no reason to believe that if George Zimmerman had found an alternative to pulling that trigger, he wouldn't have employed it. But there aren't too many options when a 180 lb 6'2" black man is in the process of trying to smash your head in.
This is the stupidest case that liberals could have possibly embraced. It makes them look like fools. And I still believe, by the way, that there is an excellent chance that it will never go to trial.
Poor George Zimmerman, though, is likely to pay a heavy price for having the misfortune of defending himself against a black assailant IN FLORIDA during a Presidential election year.
