Yeah, I knew what your point of emphasis was, Kathy, but I'm not going to work myself up about something over which I have no control. The parents in that school district need to make themselves heard, which is why I said the principal would be getting an earful if I was a parent, there. And yes, the principal should not be the last stop for the complaint, either ... and from what I've read so far, it sounds like a fair number of disgruntled parents in that school district are registering their complaint. As far as being tougher on that willfully ignorant, bovine piece of trash "teacher" ... well ... the voters are probably going to have change out some school board members before the school district can grow a spine stiff enough to mete out the more severe punishment she so richly deserves.

My point was that the teacher was suspended with PAY.

Doesn't everyone want a paid vacation?

She broke the rules, a suspension was in order, but NOT WITH PAY.

Principals are puzzies, imo.

If you want to get someone's attention in a school system, you send a strongly-worded letter to the principal, with EVERYONE ON COPY, and then attend the next Board of Education meeting.

I was just a volunteer at a school, but you get more results by following protocol.

You MUST HAVE HEARD that ridiculous exchange between that teacher and the student. The tenure rules are being reformed, and someday immediate dismissal will be included when you do something as she did.

Free speech anyone?
