I suspect that the most significant item might be the fact that prices at the pump have been coming down and that's one item that most everyone takes note of at least once a week or so. Besides, it's spring. Summer is on the way. Those people with jobs are looking forward to vacation (which may now look more inviting with those lower gas prices)...
