re: "Big pain for a few years but far more acceptable then dragging this scam out for eternity!!"
I like that path too, Nemo. Unfortunately, it's a path that can only be taken if we get some extraordinary leadership. I don't see that happening, do you?
BTW, the scam won't be dragged out for eternity. Not by a long shot. You and I both know that. Others do too, but won't admit it to themselves. It is a scary thing, trying to stare down what is perhaps our own death.
Scams, pyramid schemes and the like that run their course experience an acceleration of activity right before the end. And then, in the blink of an eye, it comes undone. Think about the Soviet Union. The signs were all there, but the unravelling, when it came, occurred with breathtaking speed.
Most of us can see it happening in Europe right now with crystal clarity. Frantic actions and wild gyrations. Lots of news; little action. The end is near.
The U.S.'s demise isn't quite so close, but how any objective person could fail to see that we're on the same path, is beyond me. Perhaps it is because it's us this time... and it's always harder to see one's own shortcomings than it is to see another's.
A conclusion will occur. The longer it is held in abeyance, the more painful it will be. I feel sorry for us all - myself, my wife, my son, my friends. What a terrible loss.
Gold is $1,581/oz today. When it hits $2,000, it will be up 26.5%. Let's see how long that takes. - De 3/11/2013 - ANSWER: 7 Years, 5 Months
