I wonder if the kids on sports scholarships fall in that category?
When I was young, seemed if the guys excelled with a ball (football, baseball or basketball) they would have lowered expectations with grades.
As to Obama, even if he was helped by affirmative action, he IS proof, given a chance, look how far you can go!

Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was the president of the Harvard Law Review. He was a community organizer in Chicago before earning his law degree. Nine months later, Obama was named the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize laureate. In April 2011, he announced that he would be running for re-election in 2012.
