re: "I have never charged 'gas'."
Is there something ignoble to charging gas?
I can see why it might be smart to not charge ANYTHING. And I can see why it might be smart to charge EVERYTHING - so long as the card is free and paid off each month.
For businesses, I can even see why it might be smart to rack up a short-term balance, so long as it is just that: Short-term.
But I don't see any point in singling out 'gas' as the one thing you never charge.
Or do you only go to stations that offer the cash discount? There aren't many such around here, and their prices don't compare with those at Costco, those that participate in grocery-store discount offers, or those in neighboring Manassis (30 miles away, but gas is an amazing 35 cents cheaper.)
I tanked up a few days ago at an ordinary, local Exxon for $3.69/gallon. It was a ridiculous price, but I suspect it beats anything you guys would have found on the same day in New York or California.
