You might not be aware of this, but the only border walls the United States has erected in the last twenty years are to keep its citizens IN. So you can drop the 'America: Love it or leave it' rhetoric. It was a tired line in the 1950s, when it actually meant something.
I suspect that U.S. officials have concluded that this country will be ground zero in the coming economic collapse. If that's the case, this is NOT where anyone will want to be. Conditions will be more like Berlin 1923 than USA 1931 (where it never really got all that bad.)
If the government would let me exit without brutalizing my estate, I'd probably take them up on it. There are some pretty good alternatives these days.
