The sad thing is that this ridiculous ploy actually works . . . on the Democrats themselves.
There have been countless occasions when some asinine statement came out from the left and was then circulated as fact. Once it's repeated enough, there's no stopping it. It might as well be fact.
Some on the left are just dumb as doorknobs and can't see contradictions that stare them in the face from day to day. (In Orwell's novel 1984, the alliances in the ongoing war changed one day -- along with all records indicating that it had ever been different. Hardly anyone noticed. They must've all been liberal doorknobs.)
The rest know what's happening and participate in the charade willingly.
