...all gubmints have people sitting up nights thinking of new things to tax. A common refrains is "We must find new sources of revenue". A old time politician, George Corley Wallace once said that all this talk about new sources of revenue is hogwash. There is only one source of revenue and that is people.
...the tax per mile is also being considered for gasoline and diesel powered vehicles. The gubmint is losing revenue because carbon based fuels are more expensive and people are using less of it.
