Zim:

One important aspect of WWII aiding our economy was that from 1938 till late 1941 we sold arms to the belligerents without being in the war ourselves. We ended up with much of the world's money before we trended over to lend lease.

Let’s for a moment assume that the popular fable behind World War II is correct. War is what got the United States out of the Depression. Okay, who cares? There’s one example of war stimulating an economy…Check that, there’s one example inside of a larger example that illustrates the exact opposite. Everything else points toward war having dire economic consequence. After World War II, Britain was basically bankrupt and had to liquidate their empire.

Smells like a liveral - OK, you got one example
of War being good for an economy - "Okay, who cares?"

Deeper understanding is necessary.

Britain had its manufacturing facilities obliterated.

The United States manufacturing facilities - built for
the War - rebuilt most of the 'free world' after
the war.

Feel free to explain.
