I've previously stated and graphed the extreme collapse of the Nasdaq in 2000. Did you also see when the Nasdaq ballooned (1999)? Do you understand the notion of bubbles?
The Nasdaq is not the stock market and certainly not the economy. It is one index within the stock market. Go look at the two graphs again.
