Only $275 billion of the stimulus actually went to projects like rebuilding bridges and roads. The biggest portion, $288 billion, was 'earmarked' for tax cuts, much of it going to businesses and corporations, as demanded by the Republicans.
I don't know if this link is instrutive or not. I just don't see that many jobs, that many permanent jobs, or jobs or investments that have payback. $800 billion is a pile of money.
