When I asked one about the Pantheon and its multiple Gods, he said it isn't too different from Christianity with its Triumvirate. In fact, he said, the three primary gods of Hinduism are one... a Triumvirate... exactly like in Christianity.
We didn't go into how all the lesser Gods fit in. My guess is that they correspond roughly to Christianity's televangelists.
