I represent that remark, ktc.

It's not so much that I'm against government as that I'm for freedom. Government growth necessarily comes at the cost of peoples' freedoms. To "govern," after all, is to "restrict and control." It's not a very American ideal.

I've said many times that the level of government we had in 1910 was about right. By that time, we were already the greatest nation the world had ever seen -- we just didn't know it yet.

Slash 99% of our bloated government... and maybe we could be there again.

Nothing, unless carried to a goofy extreme like some anti-government cavemen want to do. I agree the federal government is intrusive and too involved in our lives.

On the other hand, I see areas that cry out for government action. Aside from recent fiscal excesses, I personally have not been abused by any government - local, state or federal. I have no problem paying my taxes, and I live in a decent town, state and, until recently, country.
