This seems to be happening more and more, lately.
People are such unbelievable dirtbags.
After this, the George Zimmerman story, the 'Forest Boy' captured in Germany, Obama's claim that Republicans had inventory the story about his birth in Kenya, the rape claim against Dominique Strauss-Kahn, countless stories of kidnap victims who turned out to be runaways, Global Warming, the child trapped in his family's mylar balloon, and so many other proven lies, we should be doubtful of EVERY "interesting" news story... and EVERY political statement.
If, in this day and age, you continue to blindly accept news (especially scandalous news) as it is first reported, you're not a very intelligent person. It's just that simple.

Hitchhiker retracts claim he was victim of drive-by shooting

A hitchhiker, who says he is writing a memoir called Kindness in America and claimed he was victim of a drive-by shooting in Montana, admits he shot himself, according to Montana authorities.
Valley County Undersheriff Vernon Buerkle says Ray Dolin, 39, of Julian, W.Va., admitted Thursday night that his earlier claim was false, the Associated Press reports.
