Now that is down right stupid and you appearently do not understand the difference between a liberal and a conservative. A liberal is one who thinks the government should "take care of the people, ALL the people, ALL the time" and a conservative is one who thinks people should take care of themselves. While there are those who fall in the middle and swing back and forth, depending on the issue, you cannot be both more conservative AND more liberal than a conservative or a liberal

Zimbler,

re: "Can't you possibly see the sheer stupidity inherent in what you just penned? More conservative and more liberal?"

He's right, Zimbler. You aren't.

You apparently think we live in a world of just one left and one right, and that people can position their entire political view somewhere along the line betwixt the two. That's easily shown to be false. Let me give you an exercise:

Draw a horizontal line and label the left side of it "Liberal," the right side of it "Conservative."

Put a dot where the Democrats lie. Put another where the Republicans lie. Then add additional dots for Communists, Nazis, Maoists, Libertarians, Green Partiers, Dopers, Bikers, John Birchers, KKK, American Blacks, Illegal Mexicans, and Anarchists.

Post your result here and we'll have a very interesting discussion.

If you find yourself unable to complete the assignment, it will be because KTC was correct. It is QUITE possible to be "more conservative and more liberal" - on DIFFERENT political axes of a multi-dimensioned grid. Anyone who thinks otherwise ... is really not thinking at all.
