Actually,
What I might consider to be a 'fire breathing
conservative' would not want to spend public
money on the National Parks . . . .

Where-as the uber-liberals would spend gazillions of
dollars outfitting the National Parks so's every
paraplegic and half wit would have their very own
taxpayer funded personal tour guide.

Those of us in the middle . . . I like National Parks
(though I would call myself a conservative). But
moderation in all things.

We should have National Parks. They should be
'accessible'. they should also incorporate large
swaths of 'wilderness' and 'We' should not be spending
ungodly amounts of money just so some tiny fraction of
the populace can get there.

Zim.

re: "If that be true . . . then KTC ought to be able to explain his meaning."

Give the man some time. It's not a simple subject.

By way of example, who would you say are the defenders of our national parks? Liberals or conservatives?

Your answer should be "conservatives," - although liberals have so thoroughly ensconced themselves into the environmental fracas that, these days, it is hard to tell where one side ends and the other begins. As a guide, you might look for signs that logic has ended and emotion has begun. There, you'll find the marker.
