It was overcast until about 2:00pm and then the sun came out so we took the grandkids to the pool and they swam and played for about 2 1/2 - 3 hours until it started to cool down. The air temp got to maybe 76º but it was warm in the sun as there was no real breezes today.

As for the mid-week holiday, since the grandkids were coming and I also had 4 days left from my 2011 personal days off still in the 'bank', I decided to use them this week so I've been off and just hanging around the house between spending time with the kids and doing some maintenance and cleaning (threw-out a dumpster of junk from the garage and attic, and hauled the Blazer full of old cloths and other miscellaneous household goods to Goodwill). Still have a couple of window frames that I need to repaint, maybe tomorrow or Friday.

Little rain early. Lots of sun later. We try to get God to only rain at night in Boston. Golf with my granddaughter (her first time) - Cookout, family, now fireworks, the Boston Pops, a smoke and some ABs. Kids leaving soon. Life is good!

When I worked 60 hours a week, I used to love midweek holidays.
