The last few days have been tough.
My ex-employer of 25 years died of cancer, 67 yrs old.
He worked in a soup kitchen on several Thanksgivings. When dining out would take his doggie bag & give to strangers in need. Loved to ride trains & plan day trips with friends. A great dad & grandpa, a lousy husband (hey he wasn't a saint ;))
He was one of a kind.
His poor mother, she's still alive & her other son died last month, stomach cancer.
Tragic, my youngest sons lifelong friend, godfather to Tori, Brett hung himself.
Brett was a wonderful man, kind, handsome, the father of a little girl.
His relationship with her mother was volatile. But Brett moved to Florida last year after the girlfriend moved there. He hoped things would be different & wanted to be a part of his child's life.
His mother found him. (I can't imagine.........)
She buried another son a few years ago. He was born with Down Syndrome & as he got older his mom moved him into a facility. She bears a heavy heart wondering if he could have lived longer if she kept him home.
She has another son & daughter & a wonderful husband.
I hope they give her reason to go on.
DO SOMETHING!
