The item below covers NASA/JPL's latest Mars rover, 'Curiosity', which is scheduled to land on the Red Planet next month. Not only was the rover and most of it's ancillary equipment designed, analyzed and manufactured using our software, but all of the images in the article (except for the one with the two smiling faces) were rendered using the same software package that did the design, analysis and manufacturing.
In fact, next month when the space craft nears Mars and during the landing phase and immediately thereafter there is a lot of media coverage planned and our company will be very well represented with executives from both our division as well as people from higher up in the Siemens organization, perhaps even some from Germany. Our Marketing people are planning to 'make some hay' with this mission so let's all hope it all goes well. As just one example, we publish a calendar every year (which our sales people hand out as part of our sales collateral and which we mail to all of our customers) with montages each month of various images solicited from and submitted by our customers showing off their products, the only requirement being that ALL of the images have to be of models created and rendered with our software. And for August, the main image is the one about halfway down the article, which is the same as what's at the start of this post.
