Saw a news story about fire fighters who are cut back to minimum wages. It said that was an 80% cut in pay. Now I think they should make good wages but if $7.25 is twenty percent of their normal pay then they were making 7.25/.2 or $36.25 per hour. They get benefit and retirement on top of that. It is easy to see why towns are goung broke. That is $1450 a week before overtime. |
