I had this conversation with my own older brother yesterday, whose position was that civilians do not and should not be permitted to have an AR-47 or an AK-47, M-16, or any other military grade weapons. He could not fathom ANY need for a civilian to have them.

I listened and heard him out.

I then reminded him that those who forget history are doomed to repeat the failures from the past.

There is a REASON why AMERICAN CITIZENS have a RIGHT to BEAR ARMS and not just the former citizens who have joined the military looking for a job.
What's the difference between the two?

Today's "soldier" was yesterday's civilian. IS he now more "qualified" to have this type of weapon?

How about the MAJOR who IS a MUSLIM that killed all those others? I guess we should BAN ALL weapons from even those in the ARMED Services?

That would be the logical conclusion from this ludicrous call to disarm because it is the GUN, that free spirited piece of steel that all by itself DECIDED that it would shoot to kill innocent people. It mysteriously developed and grew a BRAIN and two arms and two hands and fingers all on its own.

It could not possibly be the criminal mind of the person brandishing it.

While I am still here on this topic, let me add one thing. HAD ANYONE with a CONCEALED CARRY permit been carrying into that theater and was well trained in the use of the weapon, that MANIAC would have been stopped before all of these folks were wounded or killed. The tragedy would be still be a tragedy however the TOLL would have been far less than it was.

Parliament had its own brand of democrats back then so there is nothing new about liberals wanting to TAX people and are never satisfied till all are dependent on the government to feed, shelter clothe, transport and bury them, from cradle to grave.

The only one's who ever get wealthy are the ruling elitists, like Nancy Pelosi and her husband who managed to exempt themselves from the very same laws she helped create and pass.

The Stamp Act was the straw that broke the camel;s back. Dr. Franklin had tried everything to reach a peaceful and a loyalist agreement with the mother country but the same old progressives in Parliament just wouldn't have it. Like today's libs, they simply would not listen to reason or rationale. They would no budge.
WHY? Because THEY were in POWER and the PEOPLE were nothing more than serfs and pawns to them to be used for their elitist ways.

WHAT liberals keep forgetting is that soldiers are nothing more than ARMED civilians that are organized.

So the PEOPLE rose up and brought THEIR OWN WEAPONS with them to fight against the British army. Musket AGAINST musket.

Sure, the British had cannons. But as far as hand held weapons went, the war was fought rifle against rifle.

The civilians were forced to rise up and fight for what was their natural and God given rights to live in peace and not tyranny of an oppressive government.

The founders never forgot that basic key element that when a government becomes tyrannical it is the right and duty of the people to rise up against it and replace those who have made it so.

You do this with equal force. Not my little six shooter against assault weapons.

The people have a right to be armed to defend themselves from ALL enemies, foreign AND domestic.

Now, all you gun grabbing LIBS out there, you keep believing the lies and the bull shit you espouse.
It is SELF EVIDENT that MOST of you never studied history and actually believe you are better than and brighter than almost everyone else. You THINK you are the ruling class and know so much more.

But your words and your actions demonstrate clearly your utter ignorance of lessons learned and are always depending on some conservative principled person to go to war and die just so your sorry asses can live here and you can continue to try to believe that you are superior and tell ME why I cannot arm myself equally to defend against a domestic tyrannical government,. which this present one is dangerously close to becoming.

The way these domestic terrorists and re-distributors of wealth, (same as under King George 3 only under King Obama, will attempt to pull it off is to DISARM the people.

Make it so they can not possibly resist the troops.

Now, MOST troops will not fire on civilians. It is against military code. But under this administration one is left to wonder if that will still be the case.

However, the people are still given the right to be EQUALLY ARMED for the very purpose of defending themselves against tyrannical governments.

Yes, a government has a lot to fear when all the citizens rise up against it. A lot of us versus a miniscule amount of them.

THAT IS the HISTORIC reason why the 2nd amendment is in the CONSTITUTION of the United States, and I am confident that BARRY Soetoro does not like it one little bit, anti-American that he is.

Thank God we did at one time have good people inoffice and congressmen as well. That has not been the case for well over a hundred years now.

TAKE away the PAY and benefits of Congress and see who wants to represent their districts then.
No incentive to go and get wealthy and screw the people anymore. No money No power.

I like it. No lifetime pensions and a 65,000 dollar a year salary period. PAY for your own medical insurance like everyone else does. No car given to you to drive. No free gas and no free gym either.

YOU will be only a representative of YOUR CONSTITUENCY. I like it. Time to return to basics.

Time to remember history and the reasons why things are as they are. Time to stop revising history and changing it.
