Some of us served in the military a couple of times. Boston guys always do more than our share. We did our shooting in the army. I was a good shot and enjoyed the firing range. I qualified for a dozen or so others, who had no need to develop any expertise with weapons.

KTC, I feel sorry for folks like you. When I was a junior in high school I and a buddy went through over 1,000 rounds of 22 shells. He found a fellow that worked at an armory that sold us WWII ammo for 10 cents a round. We bought several thousand rounds of 30-06 and 30 caliber ammo as well as some 45. While most kids we knew were going out and getting drunk, we were going out and shooting beer bottles and cans. We shot an M1 and an M1 carbine. When we started reloading the 30-06 shells we often fired some with a Springfield, bolt action. One thing I have always regreated is not getting the chance to buy his 45. It was manufactured by Singer Sewing Maching company.
