Meeting Iceland’s wild horses

DURATION: 04:13

According to legend, Iceland’s rare breed of wild horse was brought to the country by the Vikings in about 900 AD.

The horses are resilient to Iceland’s harsh conditions and can thrive in a climate which would not be suitable for a normal horse.

In the past the horses were used for transport, agriculture and riding and now some hope they might bring new tourists to the remote north of the country.
