Yet by law, as a Union Rep, we were required to represent non-members equally. How equal, well, that; pretty subjective. My argument to the few non members was that they lose any voice in any and all contract votes, local issues... all for a couple bux a MONTH...

Even management knew that what we negotiated directly affected their compensation, benefits, so most were very supportive... As were most of our customers, who were at times directly affected by our shenanigans... Fun times... But different times, when we all thought we had job security...

Perhaps they should rule that non-members are also exempt from receiving any and all benefits negotiated by their co-workers who ARE dues-paying union members. See how long that would last.
